To support the low-income families across Punjab, CM Punjab Maryam Nawaz announced to launch “Ration Card Program”. The aim is to provide financial assistance to low-income deserving families to meet basic food expenses. A total of 1.25 million (12.5 Lakhs) families across Punjab will get financial support in the initial phase. The program was launched on 29 April 2025 by CM Punjab Maryam Nawaz.

What is CM Punjab Ration Card Program?

Ration Card or Rashan Card is an initiative of the Punjab Government to support the deserving families across Punjab financially. In this program, about 12.5 million low-income, underprivileged families will get financial aid. Each month, these families will receive an amount of 3,000 PKR.

Eligibility Criteria for Ration Card

There are conditions and requirements for eligibility to get a Rashan/Ration Card. These conditions and requirements are compulsory to ensure the transparency of the program. The applicants must meet the following general eligibility criteria to get the Ration/Rashan Card:

  • Applicants/Families must be permanent residents of Punjab. Individuals who are not residents of Punjab are not eligible to apply.
  • The applicant must be registered with the PSER (Punjab Socio-Economic Registry) Survey.
  • Individuals registered with Social Security or Worker Welfare.
  • Applicant must have a valid CNIC as per NADRA records.
  • Mobile number registered with the same CNIC.
  • Monthly income should be less than 50,000 PKR.
  • The PMT Score (Proxy Means Test Score) must be less than 35.
  • Applicant must not be a government employee.
  • Only one person per family can apply for the RASHAN card.
  • Individuals or families who are not tax filers are also eligible to apply.
  • Individuals who do not own a house or have personal property can also apply.
  • Applicant’s family must not be a beneficiary of the BISP (Benazir Income Support Program).
  • Both male and female applicants from deserving families can apply.

Required Documents to Apply for CM Punjab Ration/Rashan Card

These are the required documents to apply for the CM Punjab Ration/Rashan Card. Applicants must have these documents while applying for a valid application:

  • A valid CNIC/ID Card as per NADRA.
  • A registered mobile number on the Applicant’s CNIC.
  • Proof of residence or domicile of Punjab (yet to be confirmed).
  • Passport-size photographs of the applicants.
  • A proof of income less than 50,000 PKR (Pay slip, etc.).
  • A utility bill (yet to be confirmed).
  • You must have original documents while applying.

Do You Need to Apply If You’re Registered in the Nigehban Program?

It has been clarified by the Government of Punjab officials that the families who have registered in the Nigehban Ramadan Package are already included in the Punjab Ration/Rashan Card applicant list. The data of such families has already been collected and processed. So, they don’t have to be registered again. Their application are already forwarded for card issuance.

This initiative has been taken by the Government due to the following reasons:

  • To save time and make the process faster.
  • To avoid the duplication of data and records.
  • To benefit the maximum deserving families.

Note: The Nigehban Ramadan Package aid receivers, make sure that their data is updated to avoid any difficulties. The candidates who have not received any aid through the Nigehban Ramzan Package can apply through the following process.

How to Apply for Ration Card Online (Step-by-Step Method)

The official application process has not been confirmed yet by the Government. Also, the Government has not launched any portal for the application of the Ration Card/Rashan Card Program. The registration process is expected to confirm on 29 April 2025. According to some sources, the registration will be done through the PSER portal.

Here is the application process if the Government announces registration through the PSER portal:

Step 01: Click the Apply Button

  • Click on the “Apply” button below to navigate to the PSER portal.

Step 02: Register on PSER Portal

  • Click “Register Now” and provide your name, address, mobile number, email, and password to register on the PSER Portal.

Step 03: Apply PSER Program

  • Open the PSER portal and click and apply for a new application/survey.
  • After declaration notification, provide the name of the head of the family with CNIC number and other basic information, e.g., date of birth, gender.
  • Provide information about the family’s health status, education status, employment status, asset and agricultural information, with contact number and address.
  • This will help the government determine the eligibility of your family for the card.

Step 04: Application Submission

  • After providing all required information, review your application and submit it to apply for the PSER program and subsequently for the Ration/Rashan Card.

Note: You can check your eligibility or application status of the PSER Program through SMS. Send a message to 8123 with your 13-digit CNIC/ID Card number.

How to Apply Offline

The Punjab Govrnment has been confirmed by the Punjab Government whether the application process will be online or offline. However, if it’s offline, here is the expected offline application process:

  • Visit your area’s Union Council office or Khidmat Markaz.
  • Bring your original CNIC and phone number.
  • Ask the staff to fill out the application form on your behalf.
  • Complete the application form, review it, and submit your application.

Note: There are no charges or processing fees for the application. So, there is no need to pay any charges to anyone.

What Happens After Registration?

After your registration and application for PSER,

  • Your data will be processed and verified by the Government institutions.
  • If you are eligible and meet the eligibility criteria, you will receive a confirmation notification on your PSER portal and an SMS on your registered number. You will get the necessary information about your Ration/Rashan Card on your portal.
  • An aid of 3,000 PKR per month will be sent to your card, starting from 1 June 2025.
  • After you have received the aid, you can go to any registered stores/outlets and buy groceries/ration.

How to Check Punjab Ration Card Application Status

To check the status of your application:

  • Visit the PSER website or https://ehsaas.punjab.gov.pk/.
  • Enter your details to log in to your account.
  • You can check your application status there.
  •  You can also send SMS to 8123 with your CNIC to check the application status.
